How to Change the Battery on Your Fluke 117
Multimeter
If you own a Fluke 117 Multimeter, then you have certainly noticed
that the way your product uses its battery is unlike some other Fluke products. Users of Fluke devices have always
been impressed with the accurate readings, but often disappointed in the relatively short battery life and the
difficult process of changing out a battery.
Fortunately, this has changed with newer models such as the Fluke 117. This
article provides a brief explanation of how to change the battery on the Fluke 117 Digital Multimeter.
First, when it's time to change the battery, it is no longer necessary to remove the
entire back panel on the 117 model. Instead, you simply need to take off the tilt stand. The tilt stand was added
so readings could be taken and easily seen while you are using probe connections.
After you have removed the tilt panel, just flip it over and you will see that the
nine-volt battery is attached to the back of it. It snaps easily out of its protector - simply pull out the battery
and snap in a new one. When you put the tilt stand back in, the connections will touch properly, and the device is
ready to go.
