Fluke 87v Digital Multimeter - What's In The Box When You
Buy It?
Purchasing a new Fluke digital
multimeter is a great choice for any electrical technician, especially if you have chosen to buy an
advanced model like the Fluke 87v. The Fluke 87v is the latest release in a long line of high quality digital
multimeters produced by one of the leading companies in the industry. In fact, most electricians have some kind of
Fluke device in their toolbox at any given time, not to mention the fact that many electric enthusiasts and weekend
warriors have them as well.
If you are considering buying a Fluke 87v digital
multimeter, perhaps you are wondering what you would get in the box after your purchase.
It's always a good idea to do as much research as possible about a
product before you actually buy it. This article presents a quick rundown on what is in the Fluke 87v
box.
In the box you will receive these items...
1. The Fluke 87v device itself. The Fluke 87v is an ergonomic
handheld meter made of high-quality heavy duty plastic. Its walls are tightly sealed so internal components are
very well protected. It has a number of advanced features from true RMS to the ability to do both manual and
auto-ranging. It also includes resistance, continuity and diode test as well as a 10,000 µF capacitance range for
motor and other components.
2. TL75 test leads and AC72 alligator clips. These test leads and
clips can be quickly attached so you are ready to take measurements within just moments of opening the
box.
3. A Holster. An easy to use holster will give you a place to store
your unit when it is not in use. However, the quality of construction is so high that many don’t use a holster or
storage case at all, but simply throw the unit into a toolbox when their done.
4. 9V battery (installed). Even though it may seem like a small
addition, the fact that the unit comes with a nine-volt battery already installed inside means that you can get to
work right away without wasting any time.
6. CD with detailed manual. This is a unique addition to the
package. If you ever need to reference detailed specifications, you simply put this CD into your computer to look
at the incredibly detailed manual that is over 50 pages long.
7. 80BK temperature probe. Another unique addition to the 87v is the
inclusion of a temperature probe. This probe is useful in several applications and ensures that you don't need to
carry a separate tool if you ever need to measure temperature.
