A Short Fluke 117 Review – My Thoughts

After doing a lot of research and reading tons of detailed customer reviews, I thought that I would bring you a short Fluke 117 review based on my thoughts. Overall, I am quite impressed with the features of the 117.  In this article I will tell you why.

It's A True RMS Meter

First, I really appreciate the fact that the 117 is a true RMS meter. I also like the way that the meter does not concern itself with milliamps or microamps since these are often not needed and I don't want to pay extra for a measurement I do not need.

Detect Voltage Without Contact

The Fluke 117 is also capable of detecting voltage without making contact. You can be several inches away from a source and still get a reliable voltage reading.

Quality Made

When I was reading through reviews, I did find one complaint echoed by a few users. While most other Fluke products are manufactured in the United States, the 117 model is made in China. I understand the concern about the foreign manufacture of this product. However, in my research I was not able to find any difference in the quality of construction or craftsmanship of this model compared to other Fluke products made in the U.S.A.
